STP Devotional for the Week of 3/3/25
Hello, guys!! My name is Cailyn Snover, and I am a TTA for Goldilocks. I’ve
been a part of STP for nine years, and this is my second year as a TTA. When I
first signed up to be a TTA, I had no idea how much fun it was going to be. Being
a TTA has helped me become a better leader, get out of my comfort zone, look
for those who are excluded, and has definitely brought me closer to the Lord.
Before I was a TTA, I would never go up to someone and just introduce myself;
that was definitely out of my comfort zone.
One of the things that stood out to me in our show, Goldilocks, is how a young
girl learns to not let fear and anxiety control her. When I was younger, I was really
scared of being the only one awake in the house. I was so
afraid that I dreaded going to bed and got a knot in the pit
of my stomach every time I thought of it. I was so
controlled by fear that I’d stay up for hours, but God never
left my side as He will never leave yours. He has a perfect
plan, even when you’re in the middle of it and can’t see it.
My parents encouraged me, and, with their support along
with repeatedly reading the Psalms, I faced my fears.
After I was the only one awake multiple times, I realized
that it wasn’t so bad after all. When Goldilocks, the three
bears, and others are stuck in jail, they learn that, though
they don’t understand why things happen, they have to
trust that the Lord will use their tough situation for good.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those
who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
And now, I will give you a little glimpse of Goldilocks...
Goldilocks may be familiar to everyone but the STP version is a creatively
rewritten tale that starts off with Goldilocks and the three bears stuck in jail!
Priscilla, a detective sent by the King (notice the capitalized “K”) interviews each
prisoner, and they each tell their side of the story. Priscilla finds through digging
deeper and asking for the Lord's guidance that there is an even bigger problem
at hand. The whole town must give up their fleshly desires, wants, and fears in
order to save the town from ruin. Come and find out for yourself what happens to
Goldilocks and the three bears!
